I had a few issues getting the ASDM GUI working initially, note that you do NOT have to import the ASDM. A google search will get you the image you need. They also recommend that you use the ASAv directly from Cisco’s VIRL software. I would strongly recommend that you view that video.

The GNS3 team have a great video showing you how to import the ASAv image into GNS3. Note if you want to run an ASAv image you must run it in GNS3VM and not in the GNS3 local.ĪSA image: asav952-204.qcow2 (VIRL image) Just how wrongly am I going about this? I notice that when I do "show priority statistics' I see the LLQ has 0 on all counters. After struggling to get the ASDM to work in GNS3 I thought it would be a good idea to write a blog post on how to get the ASA and ASDM working within GNS3.īelow is the ASAv image I am using and also the version of GNS3. I realise that bumbling about with ASDM is sub-optimal but it's been a long time since I used the ASA's weird CLI so I felt this would be quicker. The wizard then gives you a window with a 'QOS' tab containing a checkbox that says 'prioritise traffic' which means it will go to LLQ queue. My plan was to create a service policy with these networks as destination criteria. DSCP EF tag etc) - but what I do have is five networks that the softphone will be sending all its traffic to. Because they are softphones the voice traffic is in the same VLAN as the data traffic.Īt the moment I'm still trying to find out if the softphone is tagging its packets (e.g. I've been asked to attempt to resolve some poor call quality issues happening on a site with about twenty users using softphones. I have CCNA Security but haven't worked on many ASAs over last couple of years.
